Account Deletion Request
Last updated 10 July 2026
You can request deactivation, deletion or export of your Modus account and associated personal information at any time. Because Modus may contain court-relevant, child-related or safety-relevant communication records, we review whether certain records must be retained for legal, safety, audit-integrity or compliance reasons before actioning a request — see the Data Retention Policy.
Your options
Deactivation disables your login and hides your profile, while keeping the shared record intact — useful if you need the record to remain available (for example, for an ongoing legal matter) but want to stop using the app.
Deletion removes your account and personal information where we are able to, subject to the retention review described below.
Data export gives you a copy of your communication record without closing your account.
What happens after a request
Submitting a request does not automatically delete all records immediately — we review each request and verify it comes from the account holder. We aim to complete this review and respond within 30 days. We will tell you what action has been taken: what data has been deleted or de-identified, and what data must be retained and why (for example, because the other member of your space relies on the shared record, or a legal hold applies).
How to request
In the app: Settings → Account → Deactivation, deletion & data export. From the website, you can also email privacy@modusparenting.com from the email address on your account, stating whether you want deactivation, deletion or an export. Deactivation is available as an alternative where the record needs to remain intact.
